What is GHS?

The GHS is an acronym for The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals. The GHS is a system for standardizing and harmonizing the classification and labelling of chemicals. It is a logical and comprehensive approach to:

• Defining health, physical and environmental hazards of chemicals;
• Creating classification processes that use available data on chemicals for comparison with the defined hazard criteria; and
• Communicating hazard information, as well as protective measures, on labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

Once we begin working on your order you’ll receive an update letting you know we started the work and an anticipated date the labels will be complete. Once the labels have been printed they will be shipped to you.

FAQ

What if we do not have an inventory?
If no inventory exists CHEMWISE can conduct an inventory for you and will provide your organization with an Excel sheet where you will be able to modify accordingly and retain an inventory for your facility. There is a fee for inventory services. The fee is based on the quantity of items you have. If you need an inventory we can help.

What if I do not have a Safety Data Sheet (SDS)?
We base chemical label elements using Sigma-Aldrich Safety Data Sheets. If no SDS is provided when the inventory worksheet is completed we will use Sigma-Aldrich Safety Data Sheets to obtain the required label elements.
