Congratulations on taking the first step to recycle your nail polish! We like to see nail polish being recycled. So, are you ready to get started? Here's a description of our program in a nutshell.

Nail polish is sent to our recycling facility where it will be reclaimed from the bottle and bulked into like colors/brands. You will be responsible for shipping the nail polish to us. We offer packaging materials for your convenience. You may have read somewhere that shipping nail polish is prohibited but this isn't entirely true. We put a guide together that shows you how to legally mail nail polish.

Surprisingly, recycling nail polish is inexpensive. We charge by the bottle. Our current rates are $0.35 per bottle. Additionally there will be a service fee of $3.00 per box. You can fit as many nail polishes in the box as you would like.

A March 2002 U.S. Geological Survey report on wastewater contaminants in America's streams found plasticizers, possibly phthalates (a common nail polish ingredient), in 64 percent of 139 streams studied. By recycling nail polish this danger to plant and animal life can be avoided.
Some nail polishes contain toluene, dibutyl phthalate, formaldehyde, and acetate. These are all hazardous to your health and especially hazardous to the environment. These chemical are among the most toxic ingredients found in nail polish.
If you paint your nails, chances are you have several containers partially full of nail polish hanging around you do not use. Before you toss them out, stop and think for a minute of what else you might be able to do with them. There are many ways to recycle your unwanted nail polish.

            • Use clear coat nail polish to waterproof your stuff
            • Use the paints as a way to label your things
            • Use unwanted nail polish as paint for creative works of art
